5G TECHNOLOGY: Everything You Need to Know

What is 5G?

5G is on everyone’s minds these days, and for good reason. Not only will 5G improve how we use and communicate with technology, it will also change how various technologies communicate with one another.
It is the new generation of telecommunications that is slowly expanding around the world and is, until now, the most powerful connection in existence. 5G is based on OFDM (Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing), It is a method of modulating a digital signal across several different channels to reduce interference.
5G cells will be able to transfer not just more data, more quickly, but they will also communicate instantly. As It offers uniform, uninterrupted and consistent connectivity across the world. It allows access to parallel multiple services, and it can access remote places too. And it means everything will happen a much faster pace with far greater reliability.

Benefits of 5G Network Technology

Faster average speed-

Speed is the benchmark for the wireless network performance. It refers to amount of digital data exchanged between two device through a specific channel in a given period.
The Current trend shows that the 5g users see average speeds is many times faster than 4G. It's Speed range from 50 Megabits to over a gigabit/s. As it has greater bandwidth, meaning that it can handle many more connected device in comparison to 4G network.

Lower latency-

The term Latency means a specific period of time over which an individual initiates an action and something happening as a result. 5G brought with it a new technology called Ultra-Reliable low latency communications(URLLC) that make life much more smoother at home, work and everywhere in between. It makes better interactions and satisfaction among customers.

Higher peak rates-

5G mobile broadband technology is the fastest connection standard available, with peak data rates of 20 gigabits per second(Gbit/s). While 5G is still being rolled out around the world, research and development of 6G technology is already underway, which enables peak data rates of 1,000 Gbit/s. In addition to this it is designed to provide much more network capacity by expanding into new spectrum, such as mmWave.

Better security-

Security is the one of the main concern for the successful delivery of 5G networks across a wide range of industry. As there is new opportunities in Innovation and tech advancement day-by-day, hackers are targeting their vulnerabilities as major window for widespread cyber-attacks. Therefore, better security is essential for 5G future.

Robust & reliable-

5G network will be able handle a lot more devices than earlier network, so billion of devices will be able to connect together. The key part of the 5G specification is URLLC (Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications), which allows for reliable, instant communications between the network and devices. It  can handle more number of devices. It is consistently a much more reliable technology than earlier generations.

Trends of 5G in 2020

There are almost 92 commercial networks of 5G in 38 countries,  150 million subscribers in china, 320 million 5G subscribers forecasted in the US by the end of 2025.
Currently 8 million 5G subscribers in South Korea, there is six times higher 5G data usage as compared to 4G subscribers .
These countries are leading the world in building and deploying 5G technology. we can say that the world is embracing 5G  with  increasing exponential opportunities and new innovative digital services around the globe.

The Key players of the global 5G market include Huawei Technologies, Nokia Networks, Cisco Systems, Telefonica, AT&T, Ericsson,  T-Mobile USA, Qualcomm, Orange and many more are focusing  on deployment, business case, revenue opportunities for 5G around the globe.

In todays world, 5G technology is much more than just enabling faster connections for smartphones. It has the potential to transform not only internet broadband service, but also enable new applications and is  being deployed in a wide range of markets including gaming Smart Automotive, healthcare, Smart Transportation and Logistics, Consumer electronics, Industry Automation, Building and Home Automation etc.
