Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

Virtual Reality

It comprises a way to create a computer-generated environment that immerse the user into a virtual world. It includes an absorbing experience for any user making them realize they are interacting with their digital environment in real and also creating real-life simulations.

This is the generalized term for the users to experience "IN" to another world or dimension.

 It creates a virtual world for the users but is fashioned in a way that it is difficult to tell the difference between real and virtual world.

Working of VR

Virtual Reality uses a range of systems like omnidirectional treadmills, headsets and special gloves to actually trigger our senses together in order to create the illusion of reality. In today world, the virtual reality is usually implemented using computer technology.
here the computer creates artificial simulation or recreation of some real life situations. Vision and hearing of the user are simulated primarily, which immerse the users in a completely different world. It involves both conceptual and technical parts, right software and hardware combination and sensory synchronicity.
In todays world Virtual Reality is already making huge strides in its application ranging from games to education, also its future is even more exciting things in store like Improved headsets, Advertising industry from trainee surgeons in the medical field to trainee fighter pilots, VR is getting mainstream.

Augmented Reality(AR)

 It is one of the biggest technology trends and it's going to get bigger as AR related devices and smartphones become more accessible around the world.
This is a term for basically placing content "into" the real world by way of. It includes an interactive experience of a real world environment where the objects  which resides in real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information.

AR lets the user experience the real world, which has been digitally augmented or enhanced in some way. VR, on the other hand, removes the user from that real-world experience, replacing it with a completely simulated one.

Working of AR

Augmented reality can be divided into four main phase based on the different categories;
1. First the AR solution captures a part of the environment using a camera on a smartphone, tablet, or head-mounted display(HMD).
2. Then it scans the captured piece of the environment to identify a point to overlay additional information using GPS, laser, sensors etc.
3. When the point is determined, an augmented reality solution requests predefined content to overlay further an environmental footprint with additional information.
4. Once the content is requested, the solution forms a complete image consisting of the real world background and overlaid AR data.

AR technology is used in a wide range of markets including gaming industry, logistics, corporate training, healthcare and much more sectors have started adopting this immersive technology to get benefit from its capabilities. In the upcoming years we will definitely see many industries will be implementing augmented reality for use cases we have never thought of.
